about Who we are

An Architectural Practice with over 30 years experience...

passionate about the built environment and its positive relationship with people and their surroundings.

With all of these years of experience we have a wealth of knowledge enabling us to work on a diverse range of design and construction projects. Working on projects ranging from porches, garages and extensions to large industrial/commercial buildings for use by Waitrose and Morrisons, housing estates, educational buildings and healthcare services.

AGS Architectural Services is made up of father and son, Andrew and Simon Soady. Andrew Soady has a vast level of experience in surveying and planning whilst Simon graduated from Plymouth Universitys school of Architecture bringing new ideas and technology to the forefront of the practice.

Living in a more and more carbon aware society AGS Architectural Services have adapted to meet our clients needs. We are experts in passive environmental design, BREEAM and Code for Sustainable Homes systems. We also have training in Passivhaus design principles. While we appreciate not everyone may want to follow the green route we can advise in methods to cut utility and running costs of their building.

Even if you are new to the whole process or you are developer or anything in between we are on hand to lead you through your project as painlessly and simply as possible.

surveying and planning
we undertake in in topographical surveys and design schemes to maximize the opportunities to obtain planning permission.
Building regulations
we are partnered with our local LABC which enables us to have a single point of contact, pre-submission discusses and advice. With assistance in regulation reducing related construction delays to a minimum.
conservation
Living on the edge of an UNESCO World Heritage Site we fully understand the importance of designated areas to protect and enhance them for future generations. We have worked on listed buildings from chapels, churches, barns and houses including some on the at risk register published by English Heritage
of course we cant do everything
We do not profess to know or do everything but we have contacts of reliable outside consultants. Ranging from planning consultants, ecological surveyors, geological experts, structural engineers, Quantity surveyors, building services engineers, supervision for mortgage purposes etc
